What is a commission?
Kirkbride Works accepts a limited number of custom commissions each season. Each piece begins with your vision and ends with my machines. Measurements will be taken and the pattern drafted exactly to your specifics. We will choose fabric, decide on print inclusion and begin production.
No two commissions are the same. The process does not move faster because a deadline requires it, turn around is 6-10 weeks.
What is available?
Commissions are currently open for:
— One-off custom garments — Small runs (2-5 garments) for individuals.
Wholesale and larger production runs are not available at this time.
What to expect.
Timeline — Custom commissions require 6-10 weeks from deposit to delivery. This reflects the actual time needed to design and draft a pattern, prepare the fabric and construct the finished piece. Rush orders are not accepted.
Minimum spend — Commissions begin at $500. Final pricing depends on garment complexity, fabric choices, print scope. All pricing is confirmed before work begins.
Deposit — A 50% deposit is required to hold a commission slot. The remainder is due before shipping.
Revisions — One round of revisions is included if you are available for a local fitting. If you are not available, no revisions included. Changes requested after production begins cannot be accommodated.
What is not available.
Kirkbride Works does not reproduce existing prints, or garments, copy reference images, or replicate work made by other artists.
Commissions are original works — that is the point.
What happens next
Inquiries are reviewed within 5 business days of submission. If the project is a good fit, you will receive a response with a detailed quote and next steps. If it is not —due to timeline, scope or capacity — you will hear that too.
No inquiry goes unanswered.
